All of us at Marie Hansen Properties have a passion for property management. Our agents have a combined total of over 100 years of professional experience. As active members of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM), we are continually increasing our expertise, sharpening our skills, and keeping up with current best practices in the property management profession, including the most current account-management technologies.
Each of our agents attends monthly NARPM meetings, travels to national conferences, and volunteers for many NARPM functions because we believe that continually educating ourselves is very important to maintaining a high level of excellence. We pass all the benefits of our ongoing professional development onto our clients.
All of our agents are also members of the Honolulu Board of Realtors, and the majority of our property managers hold brokers licenses. Marie Hansen Properties is a member in good standing with the Better Business Bureau.

Cheryl KunimotoPresidentview bioPrincipal Broker and President of MHP, is a licensed Realtor who has worked in the property management field since 1992. She is an active member of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM) and served for four years on the NARPM Board of Directors. She is also a member of Honolulu Board of Realtors, MLS and Hawaii Association of Realtors. Soon after starting her career with another property management firm, Cheryl was inspired to lead her own company. “I could think of so many ways to make our services better, so when in 1994 I saw the opportunity to head up Marie Hansen Properties, I jumped at it.”
When Cheryl took charge of Marie Hansen Properties, the company was managing 60 units. Under Cheryl's leadership, that number has increased to over 500—one of the highest rates of growth among local property management firms in the same period. Along with her staff of highly experienced agents, Cheryl keeps close watch on all these properties. “Behind the scenes we're a team-run company,” Cheryl says. “We meet every week to put our heads together. Keeping close track of the status of all our properties allows us to look ahead and anticipate problems before they become serious. Clear communication keeps our relationships with owners and tenants strong and trusting. Each of our agents is responsible for a specific set of properties, so owners and renters know exactly who to call when they need help. In the event of a problem, it's our agents who stay up at night worrying—not our clients!"
Cheryl is committed to keeping Marie Hansen Properties on the cutting edge of the property management industry. She attends monthly educational meetings and national NARPM owner/broker conferences to stay up to date with latest legislation, management techniques, and technologies, and she puts her learning to work to optimize the company’s services. In 2014, Marie Hansen Properties implemented a state-of-the-art online management system to make account updates, rent payments, and maintenance requests faster, easier, and more secure.
Cheryl also has a personal investment in the quality of her company’s services: she has placed her own rental properties under the care of her agents, and she draws on this direct experience to make Marie Hansen Properties more responsive to the needs of owners and renters alike.

Sherie HitchcockProperty Managerview bioA self-described "local girl," Sherie Hitchcock is also a member of NARPM and the HBR and has worked in Hawai'i property management for over 20 years. "It took me a while to find the right fit with a company," Sherie says, "and this is it. I've been with Marie Hansen Properties since 2002, and I can't imagine working anywhere else. This can be a tough business, and to be able to do what you enjoy doing, you need to be part of a good team. We have that here- we all complement each other. We like our jobs, and that gives us the strength to do even better work."
Sherie attributes much of the company's success to Cheryl's leadership. "I admire Cheryl, she's like a mentor to me. I definitely would say that a management company is only as good as its staff, and that the staff is as good as the broker. Cheryl's taught us the importance of our clients, both our tenants and owners."
Sherie is a licensed Realtor and a member of NARPM. "You're in a stronger position when you have your Realtor's license. Clients trust that you can handle the fiduciary responsibilities that come with the job. I deal with valuable properties and clients with high expectations."
Consistently living up to those expectations has allowed Sherie to form enduring relationships with property owners. "I've bonded with a particular client because she sees that I understand her needs. She doesn't want to sell her family home on O'ahu, and she needed to trust someone to love her home the way she loves it. I go above and beyond for her. I do extra things that you can't really put on paper. People like that, real people with big hearts—you can't put a price tag on that."

Liz IshimitsuProperty Managerview bioBorn and raised on Moloka'i, Liz Ishimitsu came to O'ahu to earn a degree in Office Administration at Honoloulu Business College. She went to work for a property management company, starting as a receptionist, and obtained her Realtor's license along the way. Liz joined Marie Hansen Properties in May 2001. She is currently one of the Directors for the O'ahu chapter of NARPM.
With more than 11 years of experience in condominium management as well as in sales, Liz says she prefers managing rental properties. "I like helping people find a nice place to live and helping owners maintain their investments. That way, everyone's happy: renters find a home that works for them, and the owner has the most qualified, reliable tenants. I like bringing those pieces together."
Liz enjoys the fast pace and variety of property management. "There's never a dull moment in this business, but whenever you think you're at the end of your rope, someone comes along and says 'thank you,' and it makes everything rosy." She also likes the flexibility. "As long as we get the job done, we can work at our own pace. Cheryl's great about giving us freedom and trust. It's a team thing. It's the whole team together that makes the package complete."

Rhonda HutchinsonProperty Managerview bioRhonda joined the Marie Hansen Properties team in 2015. Her work as a Property Manager is grounded in more than 10 years of experience in building management and maintenance, project accounting, and technical sales. A licensed Realtor, Rhonda draws on her extensive knowledge and skills to meet each of her client’s individual needs. “Owners are putting their trust in me to take care of their homes and to make decisions on their behalf. I believe they benefit from the previous maintenance experience I am bringing with me.” Born and raised on Maui, Rhonda moved to Oahu in1997. She has deep roots in Hawaii and enjoys introducing visitors to the wide range of exciting places and activities the islands have to offer. In her own free time, Rhonda explores Oahu’s hiking trails and spends quality time her family.

Kim ArongayBookkeeperview bioKim has been with Marie Hansen Properties for over 20 years. She first came to Marie Hansen Properties as an intern in 2001. After earning her Associates Degree in Accounting, she came on board to work as an accounting assistant and soon after moved into the position of full time Bookkeeper. She is constantly adapting and expanding her knowledge as accounting technologies also keep improving. "I find satisfaction in seeing that the company's accounting runs smoothly every day," Kim says. "With over 500 units, keeping things in order in our accounting system is a big job." When owners have concerns about their accounts, Kim is always on hand to assist them. "I'm happy to help our owners and go through their statements with them." Kim credits her excellent people skills to the supportive climate of Marie Hansen Properties. "Customer service is a strong component of the job. I try every day to treat people as I would want to be treated- owners and their accounts in particular.”

Jerrae Reyesview bioPrior to joining Marie Hansen Properties, Jerrae has 19 years of managerial experience in the fields of commodity sales, computer engineering accounts and logistics. Where her dealings ranged from interactions with large conglomerates and corporate accounts to improving team skills, and building customer relations. Beyond her professional experience, Jerrae is a warm, compassion, loving person who wants to touch the hearts of everyone who she comes in contact with. When not at work she enjoys the beach, barbecue’s, and time spent with her family and friends. She also participates in year round clothing drives, The Ma’i Project, and yearly contributions to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital. She has a deep rooted love for our Kupuna, Keiki, and the Community.

Hebron Ellisview bioHebron is a US Army Veteran who has successfully served two tours in Iraq. He first gained insight into property management when he helped manage his family's properties for several years. He's been a Hawaii resident since 2018 and has become familiar with neighborhoods all over the Island. When he acquired his Real Estate License, he focused on applying his knowledge and experience as a property manager. He also served as an assistant property manager while in Honolulu. He came from RE/MAX HONOLULU Brokerage, where he was a property manager and assisted in overseeing 50-plus properties efficiently. As your property manager, he will regularly communicate with clients about all aspects of their property. Hebron holds himself to a high standard for staying organized, meeting deadlines, and following through until the job is complete. He is a current member of the National Association of Realtors, the National Association of Residential Property Managers, and HBR.
He loves working for Marie Hansen Properties. There is a significant amount of knowledge and experience within the company. Everyone was so helpful and willing to share information when I came on board. Cheryl is a great leader, coach, and mentor and always makes herself available to assist everyone equally.
